This site is run by GLiTCHED ViSUALS, a visual studio based in London, United Kingdom. We keep as little personal information as we can, we do not sell any of it, and we do not track you around the internet. What follows is the whole of it.

Who we are

GLiTCHED ViSUALS (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at info@glitchedvisuals.com about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete what we hold.

What we collect

• What you send us. If you use the project brief form or email us directly, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about your project, along with the budget and timeline you pick. The form is submitted through our host’s form service, which stores it and emails it on to us. If that submission cannot go through, the form falls back to opening your own email application with the same message filled in, and nothing reaches us until you press send there.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every request — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to serve the site and to spot abuse, and nothing else.
• Visit statistics. We count visits ourselves rather than handing that job to a third party. When you open a page, a small script sends us the page you are on, the site you arrived from, how long you stayed, your screen size, your browser’s language, which sections you scrolled through and which tiles you clicked. Our host adds an approximate country and city worked out from your IP address. Your IP address itself is never written down — it is used to work out the country and then discarded — and none of this is tied to a name, an account or a cookie, so it cannot be traced back to you. Nothing is shared with anyone, and the figures exist only so we know which work people actually look at. If you would rather not be counted, open any page with ?gv_notrack=1 on the end of the address and this browser will stop sending them.
• Nothing else. We run no advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party analytics and no profiling of any kind on this site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own, and our visit counting does not use them either. It does keep two small things in your browser’s local storage, which stay on your device and are never sent to us: which reels you have tapped the heart on, and, if you have asked not to be counted, that preference. Clearing your browsing data removes both. Third parties described below may set their own cookies when their content loads — see the next section.

Third parties

• Google Fonts. Typefaces load from Google’s font servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request.
• YouTube. Music videos are not embedded. Each card is our own still image, and it links out to YouTube. Nothing is requested from Google, and no YouTube cookie can be set, unless you choose to follow one of those links — at which point you are on YouTube and Google’s own privacy policy applies.
• Our host. The site is served by a static web host, which processes the server log data described above and stores project brief submissions on our behalf, as our data processor.

We do not share your enquiry with anyone outside the studio, other than a freelancer or collaborator brought onto your project where that is necessary to quote or deliver the work.

Why we are allowed to hold it

For enquiries and project correspondence, our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you contacted us about work, and we need your details to reply and to run the project. Where a project goes ahead, it becomes performance of a contract. For server logs, our legitimate interest is keeping the site running and secure.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within two years. Records tied to paid work are kept for seven years, because UK tax and accounting rules require it. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host, typically under 30 days. Visit statistics are kept for as long as they stay useful for understanding how the site is doing, and can be deleted at any time — they contain nothing that identifies anyone.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us holding it. Email info@glitchedvisuals.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Photography and imagery

The work shown on this site was made for and with the artists credited beside it, and is published with their agreement. If you appear in an image here and would like it taken down, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged on the site itself.
